The first feature film directed by an Afro/American woman to be given theatrical distribution in the USA.   In 1902, the Peazant family, descendants of African slaves living on an island off the South Carolina coast, face a threat to their unique culture, language and way of life. Some of the younger generation have found new lives on the mainland and return to encourage others to join them. The past, present and future of the family are seen through the eyes of an unborn child.

Doors open 7.00pm. Licensed bar available after (and occasionally before) the screening.

Tickets – temporary membership for individual screenings £5 (£4 concessions). Pay on the door.
