A request from CONTACT Theatre, Manchester.

We at CONTACT are looking for people to be part of our latest show exploring football- ‘We’re Not Really Here’ – A Football Opera – a celebration of what it means to be a football fan.

This unique theatre show puts Manchester City fans centre-stage, with the audience watching what only the players get to experience – an incredible crowd, proudly supporting their favourite team.

You’ll hear the personal stories of City fans as they watch a game in real-time from kick-off to final whistle – the highs, the lows, the chants, the banter and the songs – in a brilliant new show created with Greater Manchester people and an international creative team, including directors formerly of legendary Belgian company Het Kip.

There’s still time to take part and perform in this unique theatrical event. Man City fans of all ages can get involved, and no acting experience is needed. Don’t worry, it’s not really an opera, there’s no singing other than the chants and songs associated with the club!

You just need to commit to most of the rehearsals and all the public performances.

Rehearsals take place at Contact, and we are looking for people with flexible daytime or evening availability, From 13-23 September.

If you would like to be part of the show, or would like any further information, please contact pelinbasaran@contactmcr.com or call 0161 274 0611.

I would be grateful if you could share with anyone you think might be interested.

Kind regards, Lucy Jackson, Audience Development Coordinator
